Pedestrian bridge over the river Aiterach

Pedestrian and cycle bridge over the Aiterach River in the municipality of Aiterhofen. It is a three-span trough bridge with a laterally positioned truss. The individual spans are approximately 14.5m and twice 9.5m, with a total length of approximately 33.5m. The construction is made entirely of aluminum, including the bearings, making it over 60% lighter than a comparable steel structure.
All bridge components are prefabricated in the factory and delivered in modules. The fully bolted construction overcomes a significant weakness of the aluminum material (low welding strength), and the individual bridge segments can be quickly assembled on site. The bridges are then lifted in one piece to their final position using a mobile crane and secured with chemical anchors.
